Northbridge Common Initiatives
At Northbridge Common, our mission is to champion the diversity of local culture, arts, entertainment, and business through community building — and we’re proud to have brought that spirit to life through a range of creative, inclusive initiatives and our current initiative are below:
💟 Lock Lane- Keep It Weird, Wild & Wonderful- Lock Lane is getting a new lease on life! With $100,000 grant from the Streets Alive program, we’re transforming this narrow Northbridge laneway into a safer, greener, and more welcoming space for people ~ not just cars.
🎞 Take 5 and Wind It On – A chain-reaction photo project using 20 disposable cameras passed from local to local, capturing what inspires them. The best shots will feature in displays across Perth, Highgate, and Northbridge!
🌱 Rewilding & Reconnecting – Launched in late 2024, this green space transformation invited residents to nominate verges for a creative makeover. Featuring native plants, upcycled seating, and colourful log features, these spaces help calm traffic and bring neighbours together.
🤝 Partner Projects – We’re proud to collaborate with partners like City of Vincent, City Of Perth, Town Team Movement, and Perth is OK on creative urban projects — from local place planning and public art (like the Northbridge is OK mural) to reimagining spaces like Lock Lane.
