Welcome to the Rewilding and Reconnecting Initiative (R&R)!

Kicking off this October and running through June 2025, this exciting project is all about transforming our neighbourhood’s verges into vibrant green spaces. We want YOU to get involved! Nominate your favourite verge for a little TLC, and help us foster a sense of community ownership.

Our enthusiastic R&R committee is hard at work designing innovative verge concepts that not only spruce up our surroundings but also feature charming upcycled seating for everyone to enjoy. We’ll carefully remove existing materials and prepare the ground for planting, all while creating cozy spots where neighbours can relax and connect.

This initiative isn’t just a solo effort—it’s a community affair! We’re teaming up with local residents, dedicated volunteers, and experts from organisations like Rewilding Perth and the WA Wildflower Society. With support from experienced professionals, including a seasoned arborist, we’re ready to make a lasting impact.

To spread the word, we’ll be handing out “Nominate Your Verge” flyers and ramping up our social media presence. Selected nominees will agree to maintain their verges, ensuring they thrive for years to come. Our team will choose three verges for renovation, with at least one in a bustling area, adding beauty and calming traffic.

Plus, we’re here to celebrate and support those who’ve already beautified their own verges by providing seed packs as a token of appreciation. Join us in making our community greener and more connected—let’s grow together!
